JOB DESCRIPTION – PLAY LEADER
Job Title: Play Leader
Responsible for: Assistant Play Leader and Volunteers
Responsible to: Committee Members
Principle Accountabilities:
Co-ordinate, supervise and train staff and volunteers.
Devise and organise a programme of supervised activities for the youth club participants as appropriate to their needs.
Supervise and attend to the personal needs of the youth club participants as required.
Respect youth club members’ confidentiality.
Ensure that health and safety procedures for participants, staff and volunteers are carried out.
Responsible for liaising with parents/carers of the youth club participants.
Report to the Youth Club management Committee.
Knowledge of first aid – to hold First Aid Certificate.
Prepare rota for volunteers.
Responsible for club mobile.
Applicants should:
Have the ability to relate to children/young people
Hold a relevant recognised qualification in child care, youth work or other in learning disabilities
And/or have experience in working with children with special needs either in child care/education or youth work setting.
Be able to work as part of a team
Required hours: 5.30-8.30pm Thursdays (term time)
Salary: £9.50 per hour per session +3 hours admin per month (excluding August when Club is closed due to Summer holidays)
Notice of Termination: 4 weeks
Note: Possible holiday activities, hours to be arranged
