New Anxiety Group opens in Runnymede
New Anxiety Group opening in Runnymede
Release is a new self-help group for people in Runnymede and surrounding areas who experience Anxiety Disorders, Panic Attacks and Phobias. The group will meet for the first time on Wednesday 13th July from 7.30-9:00pm at Addlestone Community Centre, and will then continue meeting regularly on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of each month.
Release has been formed by people with experience of these issues so that others can come together in order to facilitate mutual support and assistance. Meetings are not the same as therapy, but many people find that they gain much from the support and understanding offered. The meetings are also an opportunity to share personal experiences, information and coping strategies.
Release has its own website: www.anxietyrelease.org.uk
A part of the new CornerHouse Runnymede project, Release is nonetheless an independent group which also encourages its members to access No More Panic, a web-based support group which gives comprehensive information and support, as well as an online forum.
CornerHouse Runnymede will also be helping to start, develop and support more social drop-ins and self-help groups in Runnymede in the future. If you are interested in becoming involved or have a view on what you feel might be needed in the area then please call CornerHouse Director Paul Field on 01483 757461.
