Do you know someone who has not completed the 2011 Census questionnaire and needs help?
2011 is the year of the next national census. The census questionnaire will be posted to every household in early March and there is support available for people who may need extra help with completing the survey. For the first time it will be possible to complete the census on line. The information is confidential as the Office of National Statistics WILL NOT share the details with the council, or the Housing Association, or the Tax or Benefits Office, or Immigration. Individual details are released after 100 years for use by historians and genealogists. Individual responses are turned into statistics and used to help government and local authorities plan the services and resources people need, such as transport, housing, healthcare and education. It is a legal requirement – if you don’t complete the form and send it back, census staff will visit you. If you refuse you may be prosecuted.
If you know of anyone who might need help completing the questionnaire there will be someone available at the RAVS office on Wednesday 30th March from 10.00 am to 2 pm to help.
