The Mayor and Mayoress of Runnymede, Councillors, Jim and Peggy Broadhead as well as the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Paul Tuley, were roped in to help celebrate the fantastic contribution that volunteers make towards building a safer, stronger community in Runnymede. A record number of people have been placed as volunteers by Runnymede Volunteer Centre during the past year and they were invited to an evening of celebration, and were spectacularly entertained during the evening by Alex Laredo, the Western Speciality Entertainer and World Record Holder, who demonstrated his stunning whip cracking expertise and rope spinning skills.
The evening was sponsored by Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Egham, with pizzas provided by Papa John’s, Addlestone.
