Additional Sources of funding

If you have a specific funding requirement, please contact Louise or Rosie at the RAVS office. They can advise on the current availability of, for example, specific funding streams, local funds in Runnymede as well as lobby for funds on your behalf.

Additionally, there is a wealth of funding information online, the list below is not exhaustive, but will give you a flavour of what's available.

Websites offering funding opportunities

Awards for All
This is a lottery fund and it funds small projects run by local community organisations, the funding provided ranges between £300 and £10,000 pounds. The application is short, you can apply at any time and they will tell you if you are successful within 8 weeks. RAVS can provide you with advice on completing the application form.
Big Lottery Fund
For information on all the latest funding streams from the Lottery.
Business in the Community
Business in the Community site is the leading authority on 'corporate social responsibility'.
Directgov
The Government’s website has some useful information for third sector organisations looking for funding, including where to look locally, and information about the Big Lottery Fund and Grantnet.
Futurebuilders England
The Government-backed fund provides loans, repaid through contracts with public bodies, to build organisational capacity and capability to increase the scale and scope of an organisation’s public service delivery.
Capacitybuilders
The sector-led agency delivers the ChangeUp programme, which aims to help develop the quality and availability of support services to front-line voluntary and community organisations. The finance hub [external website] of ChangeUp also provides online assistance.
Chapel and York
Organisation set up to provide information on how UK based groups can access funding from US sources.
Echarity
Echarity allows potential donors to donate on-line to their chosen charities.
Guide to Government Assistance to the Third Sector
The Guide to Government assistance to the third sector aims to provide an overview of the key sources of financial support available through the Government for the third sector.
Idealist
A huge worldwide database of voluntary organisations. Has a good UK section.
Official website of the European Union
It is updated hourly and is the place to look for European funding related issues.
Surrey Community Foundation
Surrey Community Foundation is a new organisation which seeks to bring together a number of charitable funds in the Surrey area and to administer those funds. There are a growing number of funds aimed at different sorts of projects in different areas of Surrey.
The Association of Charitable Foundations
The Association of Charitable Foundations produces leaflets on applying to trusts which can be downloaded from this website.
The Government Funding Portal
The Office of the Third Sector publishes details of grant programmes, when they are available, on the Government Funding website. The online portal that shows various central government department grants available for third sector organisations, and allows you to register to receive regular email updates of new grant rounds.
The Prince's Charities
The Prince's Charities is a group of not-for-profit organisations of which The Prince of Wales is President; 17 of the 19 Charities were founded personally by The Prince. Visit www.princeofwales.gov.uk to find out more about HRH Prince of Wales and princescharities.org for a list of the 19 charities active across a broad range of areas including: Opportunity & Enterprise, Responsible Business, Education, The Built Environment, Health and Social Enterprise.
